Most facilities charge a relative steep fee ($50 to $100 USD) to escort foriegn crew members without TWIC but with visa from gangway to gate. While the USA says it is okay for these people to go anywhere as long as they make sailing the port effectively denies access ashore by these fees. Remember some foriegn seamen only make $600/month. Most seamens centers are outside the port where these men like to go to Skype home to see/speak with their families.<br />The USCG has failed miserably to ensure these seamen are provided with their right to go ashore. Many foriegn seamen now consider the USA the worst country in the world to make a port call.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5129236205393944218.post-91574241405836843442009-08-22T22:45:10.510-04:002009-08-22T22:45:10.510-04:00Excellent and very informative post.. keep it up m...Excellent and very informative post.. keep it up man..boom truckshttp://www.i80equipment.comnoreply@blogger.com
